Career Pathways

Year Up United equips students with the skills they need for success through Career Pathways, our tuition-free job training offering. Through access to hands-on experience and skills-first training, we help young adults achieve the future they dream about while impacting organizations from day one.

Eligibility Requirements:

- 18-29 years old

- High school graduate or GED

- Have not obtained a Bachelor’s degree

- Low to moderate income

- Authorized to work in the United States for the full duration of the program (U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents/Green Card holders, DACA recipients and others with valid Employment Authorization Documents)

- Live within commuting distance of a Year Up United location. Although the Career Pathways program has shifted to a hybrid program model, you must be able to regularly attend in-person days throughout the duration of the program

- Available five days a week (M-F) for the entire duration of the program

- Highly motivated to learn new technical and professional skills

Career Connect

Gain the skills, confidence, and support to launch your career after community college—for free and in a way that fits your schedule. Year Up United Career Connect is a 6-week program (just 2-4 hours each week) that helps community college students learn job skills that employers want, so you can launch your career.

Eligibility Requirements:

- 18+ years old

- Students currently enrolled with one of our partner colleges. In LA, our partners are community colleges in the Los Angeles Regional Consortium (Cerritos College, Citrus College, Compton College, East Los Angeles College, El Camino College, Glendale Community College, Long Beach City College, Los Angeles City College, Los Angeles Harbor College, Los Angeles Mission College, Los Angeles Pierce College, Los Angeles Southwest College, Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, Los Angeles Valley College, Mt. San Antonio College, Pasadena City College, Rio Hondo College, Santa Monica College, West Los Angeles College) and Chaffey College

- Students currently enrolled at another US community college may be considered on a case-by-case basis

- Available for 2-4 hours/week during the duration of the 6-week program
