How you can become a Year Up student
Classes begin in August or January. Applications are considered on a rolling basis until the class is filled. We encourage you to apply early as space is limited.
Step 1: Submit an Interest Form
Take a moment to let us know you’re interested in applying. Fill out an interest form online.
Step 2: Get More Information
A Year Up staff person will contact you via phone or email to set up a time to give you more information about the program and answer all of your questions. You may also be invited to attend an Information Session with other interested students.
Step 3: Submit an Application
Your application will need to include:
- Application Part 1
- Personal essay (see application)
- References (see application)
- Copy of high school diploma or GED certificate
- Application documentation for College Partner
- Documentation of work authorization
- Proof of residency
A Year Up staff member will provide information on how to submit your application materials during your information session.
Step 4: Interviews
If you are qualified, our staff will invite you in for an interview. You will need to arrive on time and dress professionally.
Applicants who are accepted to Year Up will be notified via phone or mail. A confirmation of acceptance will be expected from the candidates within two weeks of the date of their letter of acceptance from Year Up.
