Award recognizes YUPRO “Pathways at Work – Your StepUP to Success” program for Opportunity Talent.

BOSTON (PRWEB) OCTOBER 01, 2020

Year Up Professional Resources, PBC (YUPRO) , was honored with a 2020 American Staffing Association (ASA) Elevate Award. This national awards program recognizes the most innovative and effective work-based learning programs to train, upskill, and reskill temporary and contract employees.

YUPRO was honored for its “Pathways at Work – Your StepUP to Success” assignment-based coaching program, which improves contractor retention, increases productivity and job satisfaction, and ultimately increases conversion to permanent jobs for the Opportunity Talent they serve. The program’s unique, high-touch approach includes a PAIRIN survey to evaluate job readiness; skills assessments with customized, on-assignment coaching; and client feedback sessions. As a result, YUPRO can drive participants’ continuous performance improvement within its clients’ evolving workplaces. Throughout the program, participants gain professional skills such as self-assessment, goal alignment, team collaboration, active listening, and influencing others.

“Our ability to positively affect the career progression of our talent — who may get overlooked in traditional talent acquisition methods — while enhancing the workforce of tomorrow for our employer partners is the foundation of our social mission,” said Michelle Sims, CEO of YUPRO. “We believe everyone should be afforded the opportunity to StepUP to success. Our social mission is the basis of our business model. It’s about the talent we serve, the challenges they’ve overcome, and their grit and determination to succeed. We exist to support their career journey and provide a coaching plan — they do all the hard work to thrive.”

“We are excited to join the ASA in celebrating YUPRO's great work providing graduates of the Year Up program with additional skills and support for launching their careers,” said Gerald Chertavian, Founder and CEO of the nonprofit Year Up. “Their coaching program has proven retention results for our young adults in corporate America. YUPRO is a critical part of fulfilling our mission to connect young people in need of opportunity with companies in need of their talent.”
