In 2015, PayPal partnered with Year Up as part of a shared commitment to advancing people’s financial health and strengthening the communities in which we live and work. After hosting just 5 IT interns at their San Francisco office to start, PayPal soon realized that the Year Up interns did much more than bolster corporate responsibility—they were a reliable pipeline of skilled, motivated young talent that would have otherwise gone overlooked. Soon, the partnership grew to include interns in Software Development and Business Operations at PayPal locations across the country. To date, PayPal has hosted more 105 interns and hired more than 50 graduates.

“One of PayPal’s core values is financial inclusion, and the Year Up program is a perfect fit. We are proud to be able to help the young people in our community thrive in their careers.

“Prior to Year Up I was basically a college dropout. Now, I’m a full-time employee at PayPal. The people that I’ve met at PayPal have all been a support system that I don’t always have at home. They all want to see me be my best self.”
