Brandon Casteel to Help Drive Growth for Year Up Atlanta

Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) March 23, 2016 – Continuing to scale its innovative and effective approach to job training, Year Up Atlanta announced today that Brandon Casteel has joined its board to help lead the program’s growth in the Atlanta market.

Casteel is the Area Vice President at, and helped enlist as a Year Up Atlanta corporate partner. An ardent Year Up supporter, Casteel has been committed and provided great leadership to Year Up Atlanta through the years. He has mentored several Year Up alumni, participated on mock interview panels, and served as a speaker and champions our mission. Most recently, Casteel served as co-chair of Year Up Atlanta’s Leadership Council, helping Year Up build awareness, connect with donors, and secure additional internships for students.

Casteel received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and earned an Executive MBA at Emory University. He has served on Year Up Atlanta’s Leadership Council for three years, and co-chaired the Council for two years. Casteel credits the support of his wife Claire for enabling him to do all that he does for Year Up and for his career. They have five children and she is taking classes for a Ph. D. at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

One of fourteen Year Up sites across the country, Year Up Atlanta was launched in 2009 and currently serves 250 students each year, with plans to serve more than 1,500 annually by 2019. The progam provides low-income young adults, ages 18-24, with six months of technical and professional skills training followed by a six-month corporate internship. Nationwide, eighty-five percent of Year Up graduates are employed or attending college full-time within four months of completing the program, with average starting salaries of $36,000/year.
