Vice President Quality, Food Safety & Continuous Improvement at Ingredion
Marcus A. Payne, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, has been a resident of the Chicagoland community for over 30 years. A graduate of Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management Science and a Masters in Management degree from Northeastern’s Kellogg School of Management, Payne is employed by Ingredion Incorporated, formerly known as Corn Products International, as Vice President Quality, Food Safety and Continuous Improvement, North America. Ingredion is one of the world’s leading ingredient solutions providers serving customers in over 100 countries across 60 industries. He has been employed at Ingredion for more than 25 years and has an extensive background in manufacturing management, quality and food safety systems development and continuous improvement/lean six sigma. Prior to joining Ingredion, he worked as a Project Manager and Team Manager at Procter & Gamble Manufacturing Co. In addition, since 2004, Payne has been an Adjunct Professor at Trinity International University where he teaches undergraduate courses in business, non-profit management and organizational leadership.
His professional and service affiliations have included: American Society of Quality, Institute of Food Technologist, Institute of Validation Technology, INROADS, Promise Keepers, Junior Achievement, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the IDeaL Education Foundation and Vice President of the board of directors of ToolBank, Chicago. In addition, since 2014 Payne has served on the board of Year Up Chicago. He is the founding organizer and executive sponsor of Pack/Troop 350 of the Boy Scouts of America, working with 1st through 10th graders residing in Dolton, IL and surrounding communities. He is also an active member of New Life Celebration Church of God where he enjoys mentoring young adults.
Mr. Payne has been married for 26 years to Zefferine and is the proud father of 4 children, Marcus (20), Brandon (18), Nicholas (16) and Kayla (13).Read More
