Ebony Campbell

Director of Youth Opportunities at Chicago Housing Authority

Ebony Campbell is the director of youth opportunities at the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA). Since 2012, she’s led the Authority’s efforts to close the opportunity gap by improving academic achievement and creating early work experiences and pathways to economic and social mobility for more than 8K of CHA’s youngest residents. Prior to joining the CHA, Ebony spent six years at the City of Chicago’s Department of Family & Support Services advancing the Mayor’s mission to develop the employability skills of young people and create onramps to meaningful employment opportunities. She began her career working directly with students as an Education Specialist for the TRIO Educational Talent Search Program and as an Instructor for the College Orientation Program at the Midtown Education Center’s Metro Achievement for Girls. Ebony holds an MS in communications with a focus on managing complexity and collaborative leadership from Northwestern University, and a BA in English literature and Italian language from the University of Illinois.
