WHY INVEST IN YEAR UP?
A 13X Return on Human Capital
In purely financial terms, an investment in a Year Up student pays incredible dividends. An MIT study estimates that a Year Up graduate will earn on average $444,000 in incremental income over their working life. This in turns generates an estimated $137,000 in tax revenues.

On a personal level our graduates gain attributes of great value: marketable skills, college credit, job experience, self-confidence, a professional network, and an interest in lifelong learning.

A Proven Business Team
Our Founder and CEO, Gerald Chertavian, is a successful entrepreneur and Harvard Business School graduate who co-founded and grew a successful Internet consulting firm to over $20M in billings in five years. Gerald is complemented by an experienced management team.

A New Model for Non-Profits
Our model is designed to be scalable, sustainable, and measurable. As we scale our model within greater Boston and to other cities, we will increase our revenues from corporate apprenticeships, and reduce our dependence on external funding.

Year Up's Scholars Program:
The Year Up Scholars Program provides an opportunity for investors to see first-hand how their investment directly impacts a young adult's life over a course of a year. Learn more about the Scholar's Program.

"Year Up did more than express their concerns about digital and economic divide. They had a vision, they fleshed that vision out, they convinced others to share it and then recruited an incredible first class of students to prove that this vision is no pipe dream."

Rev. Ray Hammond
Class of 2002 Graduation, Keynote Speaker
