Governor Deval Patrick Hosts Cabinet Meeting at Year Up and Signs Social Innovation Compact
On Friday, April 16, 2010, Year Up hosted the Governor and the most senior members of our state government for a conversation about Social Innovation in the Commonwealth. This is a testament to all of our hard work together and the tremendous success of our young people, as well as our efforts to highlight the potential of social innovation to address our society's most pressing challenges. Just as importantly - we're not doing it alone. Dozens of social innovators around the state gathered at Year Up to express their support for the signing of the Social Innovation Compact (click here to learn more) This is an exciting next step in deepening and broadening the relationship between local government and the social innovation community, which will allow us to better utilize the resources in our state to help close the Opportunity Divide. Thank you for believing in our young people and for being part of this journey.
"Year
Up does not accept the opportunity gap that exists in
our nation. We are determined to provide our urban young
adults with the education, guidance and support they need
to realize their potential."
