Congratulations to Year Up National Capital Region

On July 30, 2007,
Year Up National Capital Region held their second graduation ceremony at
the Capitol Hilton in Downtown, Washington, DC.
Many proud family members, corporate partners, program supporters
and local community leaders were in attendance. Platinum sponsors
of the event were The Carlyle Group and Freddie Mac. William
Kennard, Managing Director of The Carlyle Group, was the keynote
speaker.
This year, DC Metro paid tribute to their graduates by sharing
a special video presentation, which highlighted their experience
throughout the year. This presentation allowed guests the
chance to experience the graduates' accomplishments and the
impact the program has on urban young adults. Other rewarding
moments included the awarding of Year Up's Urban Empowerment
Award to Jeff Pisano, Customer Service Manager, IT, of The
Carlyle Group and a $500,000 donation presented to Year Up
by Freddie Mac.
